Job Description:

  • - Serves as chief technical advisor to the PM, DPM, and others

  • - Coordinates and chairs meetings of various working groups and leads infusion of
      technologies into performance of TOs

  • - Leads activities and reporting

  • - Leverages teammates for their “best and brightest” in or outside of the contract to bring
      continuous improvement and innovation to the contract

  • - Recommends new technologies and oversees new technology infusion

  • - Works closely with assistant chief technologists and chief technologist on proposed new


  • - MS and 10+ years of experience, or BS and 20+ years of experience. Degree must be in Science,
      Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM), from a regionally accredited institution.
      Professional engineering certification and/or similar (Defense Acquisition Workforce
      Improvement Act Level 3 Systems Engineering Certification); member of professional
      engineering and/or aerospace societies; demonstration of continued education

  • - 10+ years systems engineering experience related to Department of Defense and major
      space systems/programs

  • - Current Top Secret/SCI clearance or adjudication within the last 2 years

  • - Leads and/or manages, or provides technical oversight of engineering activities in a
      functional specialty relating to the design, development, fabrication, installation,
      modification, sustainment, and/or analysis of systems or systems components

  • - Ensures appropriate systems engineering technical and technical management processes are
      properly applied to functional specialty activities that support IPT environments

  • - Experience directing several supervisors or team leaders

  • - Experience providing subject matter expert support for engineering reviews

  • - Experience collaborating with external systems engineering organizations

  • - Experience identifying, supporting, and directing a broad range of technical efforts requiring
      highly specialized and diverse personnel

  • - Experience briefing senior officers

  • - Prior military or civil service experience supporting the space and/or intelligence community

  • - Experience developing and maintaining an integrated baseline to capture the architecture,
      performance, utility, and costs associated with programs (operational, in development,
      and future)

  • - Experience analyzing system level and system-of-systems level requirements, needs,
      and capabilities

  • - Experience exploring opportunities for integration as well as for migrating into new and emerging
      technologies and concepts from multiple organizations within the community

  • - Experience identifying integration opportunities across the community including the integration of
      space with non-space (terrestrial, maritime, and air) capabilities
