ATA Sensors developed the first MHD sensor in 1984 as part of a solution for space platform stabilization and vibration analysis. The first commercial application for MHD sensor technologies came in 1986 when the Department of Transportation contracted ATA Sensors to develop Center and the U.S. Navy Biodynamic Laboratory resulted in development of the ARS-01, our basic crash test sensor. Independent testing confirmed that MHD sensors were ideally suited for angular motion measurement in head and body extremities with Hybrid III and ADAM ATD's. Further developments of our ARS-01, ARS-04 and Dynacube™ products extended crash and ejection testing capabilities to the arms, legs, chest, and pelvis of ATD's with single axis, three-axis, or six degree-of-freedom configurations. No other sensors offer the versatility of ATA Sensors' products for ruggedness, insensitivity to linear or cross-axis motion, wide frequency response, high signal output, and small size for use in automobile crash and aircraft ejection testing.
