ARS-01 & 01S
MHD Angular Rate Sensors
Installation and Operation
Manual

The ARS-01 and ARS-01S are  our  most  rugged  angular  rate sensors,  designed  for  automobile  crash and ejection  testing.
This sensor is a standard  in  major  automotive  manufacturing
and in test laboratories.  The frequency response of the ARS-01 products comply with SAE J-211 Class 1000 frequency response specifications. The standard frequency response of MHD sensors can be extended significantly by the use of digital filtering in post processing of signal data. Typical  digitally processed  frequency responses  allow  use of  the  sensors  to measure  frequencies below 0.1 Hz.  A sample  MATLAB  program is available without charge.

ARS-03A (Obsolete)
MHD Angular Rate Sensor
The ARS-03 is a versatile  high-sensitivity  angular  rate sensor originally developed for LOS instruments, imaging systems, and platform stabilization applications. It is 10 times more sensitive than the ARS-01 series and has a noise floor of only 10 percent that of the ARS-01 while retaining the characteristic ruggedness and durability for which our sensors have become famous.  The ARS-03  can  be  used  for  motion  analysis  in  such  areas as automotive  steering  analysis,  vibration  analysis in  aircraft structures and instrument masts, or stabilization of imaging or laser platforms and antennas.

Dynapak 12
Space-Qualified Triaxial Sensor
Packages

The Dynapak 12  sensor  packages  were  designed to measure angular  jitter on satellites,  but can be used  anywhere  angular jitter  must  be  monitored.  The  sensor  packages  use  three space-qualified ATA ARS-12B sensors with the option of a DC-DC converter  for  running  the  sensor  package  directly  from  the spacecraft bus.  The outputs are bipolar analog signals (one per axis) along with a temperature telemetry output.

ACT-032-010
Space-Qualified Redundant Voice Coil Electro-Magnetic Actuator

ATA  designs,  produces  and  tests   custom   space-qualified  electro-magnetic  actuators  for  high  performance  steering  mirrors and other similar  applications.  The Model ACT-032-010  Redundant Voice Coil Linear Actuator (RVCLA) is a space-qualified highly  reliable  linear actuator  designed  for  use  in  large,  high  bandwidth  beam  steering  mirrors  (BSMs),  and  is  the  highest  efficiency,  fully  redundant  linear  EM  actuator  available  on  the market today. This actuator boasts a 0.025 in. air  gap  on either  side  of  the  coil  form  to  allow very  generous  alignment  and  mirror motion margins while still  maintaining a 10 Newtons/Amp (N/A)  force  constant per coil.   Low inductance  relative  to  the  resistance  allows  high  bandwidth  operation  typical  of  fast steering  mirrors.  A 20 N/A  force constant can also be realized  by driving  both  coils, in series,  if the  coil  redundancy  is  not required.   It  is  vacuum  compatible  and  designed  to exceed  1kHz  bandwidth  with  minimum  phase  loss.

Custom Precision Accelerometer Packages

Custom Precision Accelerometer Packages
A custom precision accelerometer package measures low linear acceleration  on  satellites  or  other  precision  platforms.  The package  uses  six  high-precision  accelerometers  to  provide
simultaneous acceleration signals along  three orthogonal  axes  (two per axis) with a commandable dual range of +/- 25mG and +/- 1000mG  over  a  16Hz bandwidth.  Two independent sensor sets (dual redundant) are  provided  in  a single enclosure.  The  unit provides  pulse  train  outputs  with  frequency proportional
to acceleration,  and  temperature  sensor  outputs with voltage  proportional  to temperature.  All inputs  and outputs  are  dual
redundant. Separate connectors are used  for power and signal connections.  A bias input is provided  to  offset earth G bias in the sensitive  range  for  ground  testing.  A calibration  signal is  provided internally for on-orbit two point scale factor calibration.
