ATA Sensors announces new ARS-12 sensor for critical vibration analysis, line-of-sight instrumentation and  platform stabilization applications.

Albuquerque, NM - ATA Sensors announces the ARS-12 radial rate sensors based on ATA Sensors patented Magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) sensor technology. These new sensors are the most sensitive ever produced by ATA Sensors and offer a new industry standard of performance, size and price for line-of-sight instrument and platform stabilization and precision vibration analysis applications.

The ARS-12 can measure less than 100 nanoradians noise equivalent angle over a 1 to 1000 Hz range. Size of the ARS-12 is 1 inch (25.4 mm) in diameter and 1.3 inches (33 mm) in height, with a weight under 4 ounces (100 grams).  MHD sensors have no moving parts, stainless steel cases, withstand operating acceleration limits of >200 g (all axis) and have survivability limits of >1,000 g  (all axis). They have very low cross-axis and linear acceleration sensitivity.  Standard operating temperature range is –30 to +50 º C.

An accessory for the ARS-12 is a new ILC-01 in-line-converter box which offers the ability to operate the ARS-01 from a single voltage +10Vdc source, and to amplify the output signal by values up to 1000x or convert the angular rate output to acceleration output. The ILC-01 uses AirBorn® mil spec connectors, a  precision machined  aluminum  case and fully encapsulated electronics resulting in a measurement system that can survive the harshest environments.

ATA Sensors manufactures a wide range of MHD radial rate and vibration sensors, along with signal conditioners and cables, which are used in crash testing, aerospace control systems, vehicle safety and suspension systems, line-of-sight instrumentation imaging and controls, and in vibration sensors on large generators and machinery.  ATA Sensors also can provide contract design of radial motion and shock sensor  systems for specific applications from railroad car motion sensing to notebook computer shock sensing. For  additional product information, visit the web site at: www.atasensors.com or e-mail: SensorSales@aptec.com or contact:
