| Scale
Factor
(Sensitivity)
-- The
standard
scale
factor
for the
ARS-01
is 50
mV/(rad/sec).
We can
provide
custom
scale
factors
to
customer
order
over a
range of
values
for an
additional
cost.
Any
custom
scale
factor
desired
must be
specified
in
mV/(rad/sec)
or
mV/(deg/sec).
Increasing
scale
factors
beyond
standard
values
will
result
in a
reduction
in
frequency
range.
Range
-- The
output
signal
range is
determined
by
dividing
the
maximum
output
voltage
by the
scale
factor.
A higher
scale
factor
will
result
in a
more
limited
range. A
standard
ARS-01
with a
50
mV/(rad/sec)
scale
factor
and an
output
power
voltage
range of
±10 V
will
have an
angular
velocity
range of
± 200
rad/sec.
Input
Voltages
(Excitation)
--
Standard
input
voltages
of +
5/-5 Vdc
to
+15/-15
Vdc are
used for
the
ARS-01
and
ARS-01S.
When the
applications
require
operation
from a
single
power
source
such a
+12 Vdc,
an ILC
can be
used to
generate
the dual
voltage
inputs
to the
sensor.
Signal
Conditioning
and
Power
Supply
Requirements
-- the
ARS-01
may be
operated
without
a
separate
power
regulator
or
in-line
signal
conditioning
unit if
the
standard
customer
power
supply
is well
regulated
and
without
noise,
and if
the
sensor
output
cables
are of
proper
impedance,
not more
than 10
to 15
feet in
length,
and not
subject
to
induced
noise
from
external
emi
sources.
ATA
Sensors
supplies
optional
cables
for the
ARS-01
which
have the
proper
connectors,
use
Teflon®
insulated
wire
with
twisted
pairs
and
heavy
metal
shielding
to
minimize
noise.
Cables
and
Connectors
-- Two
cable
connection
options
are
offered
for the
ARS-01.
The
cable
CA-01 is
specified
when no
ILC is
used.
Standard
cable
lengths
are
approximately
7 meters
(23
feet)
and this
is
supplied
with the
sensor
mating
connector
on one
end and
un-terminated
pigtail
at the
other to
allow
for the
customer
to add
their
own
connection
to
measurement
equipment.
The
cable
CA-02 is
specified
when an
ILC box
will be
used.
This is
a 5.5
meter
cable,
which
goes
from the
sensor
connector
to the
ILC
box.
The ILC
box
utilizes
a 4-pin
military
specification
AirBorn®
connector
(male)
MA-211-004-113-0000
for the
sensor
cable.
The
output
side of
the ILC
box uses
a
corresponding
CA-03
cable
which is
1.5
meters
in
length,
has an
AirBorn®
6 pin
connector
at the
ILC box
end, and
a
pigtail
at the
other
end to
allow
customer
interface
connectors
to be
added.
Custom-machined
connector
housing
allows
the
connector
to be
locked
to the
ILC
using
screws
provided.
In-Line-Converter
(ILC)
--
modules
are
offered
by ATA
Sensors
to
provide
a
complete
measurement
solution
for
power
regulation
and
signal
conditioning
/
amplification.
The ILC
modules
applicable
to the
ARS-01
are:
ILC-01xx
-- This
is a
single
sensor
ILC unit
which
provides
a DC/DC
converter
and
signal
conditioning
/
amplification
in a
single
unit or
a
combination
of these
three
functions.
Units
can only
be
configured
at the
time of
manufacture,
since
they are
fully
encapsulated
with
special
epoxy
resins
for
ruggedness
and
durability
at
assembly.
Signal
conversion
and gain
options
are
exclusive;
only one
or the
other
may be
specified.
-
As
a
power
converter,
the
ILC
will
allow
the
user
to
supply
a
single
excitation
voltage
(typically
+10
to12
Vdc)
and
provides
a
bipolar
voltage
(±13.2
Vdc)
output
to
the
sensor.
The
order
number
for
an
ILC
for
power
conversion
has
the
letter
“D”
as
the
ILC
first
option
indicator.
If
no
power
conversion
is
desired,
the
letter
“N”
is
specified.
-
As
a
signal
conditioner,
it
will
covert
the
standard
angular
velocity
output
of
the
sensor
to
an
angular
acceleration
signal.
(The
calibration
data
sheet
provided
with
the
ILC-01xA
will
specify
the
volts-per-volts
output
of
the
acceleration
signal
at
10
Hz
and
at
100
Hz.
This
is
a
differential
circuit.
The
gain
at
100
Hz
will
be
ten
times
that
at
10
Hz)
.
The
order
number
for
an
ILC
for
signal
conversion
from
velocity
to
acceleration
has
the
letter
“A”
as
the
second
ILC
option
indicator.
-
As
an
amplifier,
the
ILC
will
supply
an
amplified
signal
with
gain
of
1
to
1000
times
normal
signal
output.
Standard
versions
are
available
in
1,
10,
100,
or
1000
times
gain.
The
order
number
for
an
ILC
without
additional
gain
(1x)
is
“F”.
The
order
number
for
an
ILC
for
signal
amplification
from
1
to
10x
has
the
letter
“G”
as
the
second
ILC
option
indicator.
For
gain
from
1
to
100x,
the
letter
“H”
is
specified.
For
gain
of
1000x,
the
letter
“L”
is
specified.
(See
examples
below.)
Note
that
either
gain
or
acceleration
signals
output
can
be
supplied,
not
both.
ILC-03xx
-- This
is a
three
channel
ILC with
functions
equivalent
to the
ILC-01
functions
and is
designed
to
support
a
triaxial
array
with a
single
box.
The unit
has
separate
input
and
output
connectors
for each
of the
three
sensors
plus two
connectors
for
voltage
input/velocity
output
and
acceleration
output.
