The
ARS-01
Triaxial
kit
includes
three
ARS-01
or three
ARS-01S
sensors
and a
mounting
block
into
which
the
three
sensors
can be
mounted
to form
a 3-axis
angular
motion
array.
The
mounting
block is
of
machined
aluminum,
and has
three
surface
which
are
drilled
and
tapped
for the
mounting
of
linear
accelerometers
to allow
the unit
to be
used as
a 6
degree-of-freedom
sensor
system.
ATA
Sensors
can
supply
the
linear
accelerometers
to your
specification,
or
provide
the
correct
mounting
holes
for the
units
you plan
to
install. See
the
individual
sensor
specifications
under
the
ARS-01
or
ARS-01S
data
sheets.
Signal
Conditioning
and
Power
Supply
Requirements -- The
ARS-01/ARS-01S
Triaxial
Kits may
be
operated
without
a
separate
power
regulator
or
in-line
signal
condition
unit if
the
standard
customer
power
supply
is well
regulated
and
without
noise,
and if
the
sensor
output
cables
are of
proper
impedance,
not more
than 15
to 20
feet in
length,
and not
subject
to
induced
noise
from
external
EMI
sources.
ATA
Sensors
supplies
optional
cables
for the
ARS-01/
ARS-01S
Triaxial
Kits
which
have the
proper
connectors,
use
Teflon®insulated
wire
with
twisted
pairs
and
heavy
metal
shielding
to
minimize
noise.
Cables
and
Connectors
-- Two
cable
connection
options
are
offered
for the
ARS-01/ARS-01S
Triaxial
Kit.
Three of
the
cables
CA-01
are
specified
when no
ILC is
used.
Standard
cable
lengths
are
approximately
7 meters
(23
feet)
and
these is
supplied
with the
sensor
mating
connector
on one
end and
a
pigtail
at the
other to
allow
for the
customer
to add
their
own
connection
to
measurement
equipment.
Three
cables
CA-02
are
specified
when an
ILC box
will be
used.
These
are 5.5
meter
cables,
which go
from the
sensor
connector
to the
ILC
box.
The
CA-02 to
ILC box
cable
utilizes
4-pin
military
specification
AirBorn®connectors
(male)
MA-211-004-113-0000.
The
output
side of
the ILC
box uses
two
corresponding
cables,
which
are each
approximately
1.5
meters
in
length;
the
CA-03
and the
CA-03AX.
Each of
these
cables
has an
AirBorn®
“M”
series
6-pin
connector
at the
ILC box
end, and
a
pigtail
at the
other
end to
allow
customer
interface
connectors
to be
added.
Custom
machined
connector
housings
allow
the
connectors
to be
locked
to the
ILC
using
screws
provided.
In-Line-Converter
(ILC)
--
modules
are
offered
by ATA
Sensors
to
provide
a
complete
measurement
solution
for
power
regulation
and
signal
conditioning
/
amplification.
The ILC
modules
applicable
to the
ARS-01
and
ARS-01S
Triaxial
Kits
are:
ILC-03xx -- This
is a
three
sensor
ILC unit
which
provides
a DC/DC
converter
and
signal
conditioning
/
amplification
or a
combination
of these
three
functions
(For the
ARS-01S
triaxial,
power
conversion
is not
available).
Units
can only
be
configured
at the
time of
manufacture,
since
they are
fully
encapsulated
with
special
epoxy
resins
for
ruggedness
and
durability
at
assembly.
Signal
conversion
and gain
options
are
exclusive;
only one
or the
other
may be
specified.
As
a
power
converter
(ARS-01
triaxial
ONLY),
the
ILC
will
allow
the
user
to
supply
a
single
excitation
voltage
(typically
+10
to12
Vdc)
and
provides
a
bipolar
voltage
(±13.2
Vdc)
output
to
three
sensors.
The
order
number
for
an
ILC
for
power
conversion
has
the
letter
“D”
as
the
ILC
first
option
indicator.
If
no
power
conversion
is
desired,
the
letter
“N”
is
specified.
As
a
signal
conditioner,
it
will
covert
the
standard
angular
velocity
output
of
the
sensor
to
an
angular
acceleration
signal.
(The
calibration
data
sheet
provided
with
the
ILC-01xA
will
specify
the
volts-per-volts
output
of
the
acceleration
signal
at
10
Hz.
and
at
100
Hz.
This
is
a
differential
circuit.
The
gain
at
100
Hz.
will
be
ten
times
that
at
10
Hz).
The
order
number
for
an
ILC
for
signal
conversion
from
velocity
to
acceleration
has
the
letter
“A”
as
the
second
ILC
option
indicator.
All
three-sensor
channels
will
be
converted
unless
a
custom
order
configuration
is
made.1.
As
an
amplifier,
the
ILC
will
supply
an
amplified
signal
with
gain
between
1
and
1000
times
normal
signal
output.
Standard
versions
are
available
in
1,
10,
100,
or
1000
times
gain.
The
order
number
for
an
ILC
without
additional
gain
(1x)
is
“F”.
The
order
letter
for
an
ILC
for
signal
amplification
from
1
to
10x
has
the
letter
“G”
as
the
second
ILC
option
indicator.
For
gain
from
1
to
100x,
the
letter
“H”
is
specified.
For
gain
of
1000x,
the
letter
“L”
is
specified.
(See
examples
below.)
Note
that
either
gain
or
acceleration
signals
output
can
be
supplied,
not
both.
All
three-sensor
channels
will
have
the
same
gain
unless
a
custom
order
configuration
is
made.1.
